SCA National Annual General Meeting 2018

Saturday 9th June
Confucius Institute, Abden House Marchhall Crescent, Edinburgh EH16 5HP
11:00 for 11:30am

The 52nd Annual General Meeting of the Scotland–China Association will be held on Saturday, 9th June in Abden House, home of the Confucius Institute for Scotland in the University of Edinburgh. The business meeting will begin at 11:30am, with coffee and tea served from 11am.

Following the AGM, a buffet lunch will be served.

New members are needed, both to support our activities and to bring new enthusiasm and ideas to our committees. We very much hope that some members will put themselves forward, or propose others, to serve on the Branch and/or National committees.

After the meeting and before lunch we will show a video featuring 3 generations of the family of Chen Xiao Ying, wife of Dr John Chinnery and mother of Colin. It starts in the family home in Shijia Hutong in Beijing, now restored as a museum by The Prince’s Trust, and shows the lives of Ling Shuhua, Ying’s mother, John, Ying and Colin and their strong links with China. It mentions John’s role in founding the Chinese department at Edinburgh University and the Scotland–China Association.     We would like to thank the Confucius Institute for adding the English subtitles.

We do hope you will be able to attend the AGM.

Everyone (including non members) is welcome to attend the video showing.  email Janice Dickson or   Tom Nisbet to ensure you have a place.
