1. China Quick-Fix talk 19 Jan 6pm Project Room, 50 George Square, University of Edinburgh EH8 9JU
In this talk Dr Bill Aitchison considers a less well documented creative aspect of China - the ingenious, sometimes ramshackle, improvised repairs that are a feature of the Chinese urban landscape. Bill Aitchison has gathered an array of examples to share. His talk, as well as showing a number of such 'quick fixes' also connects documentary photography, craft techniques, generational politics, wealth distribution and recycling.
